Membership

LGHN’s mission is to grow future local government leaders and increase your community’s Hispanic cultural literacy

For most local governments, membership in state associations and national professional organizations such as the International City/County Managers Association (ICMA) is limited to executive staff because of the cost.  Membership in Florida Local Government Management, a LGHN regional chapter, is an affordable option for local governments to grow your team and offer high quality professional development experiences to more of your employees.  Regional chapters offer an unlimited number of members. LGHN is an affiliate of ICMA and a conduit to ICMA resources and programs as well as professional development offerings. In addition to ICMA, LGHN maintains comparable affiliate relationships with a number of other local government membership organizations including

  • National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA)
  • International Network of Asian Administrators (I-NAPA)
  • National Association of County Administrators (NACA)
  • Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)

Benefits of LGHN regional chapter membership

  • Low annual dues and unlimited number of members.  We keep dues low to encourage more members to join and grow professionally to take on leadership positions in the future.
  • Unlimited no-cost job postings on the LGHN job board (a value of $250 per 30-day posting).
  • Chapters may use LGHN’s exempt status and assistance to seek sponsors to support chapter events.
  • Assistance with planning chapter/regional events.
  • Access to programming through connections with other LGHN chapters.
