: Leadership Summit - August 25

The LGHN Central Texas Chapter had their second event at the Austin Convention Center on August 25, 2023. The event gathered leadership from Austin, San Antonio, and Seguin to discuss their path to leadership and the challenges and successes in their positions. Board Vice President Rolando Fernandez (Deputy Director, Austin Convention Center, City of Austin) and Board Member Jorge Morales (Director, Watershed Project Department, City of Austin) facilitated a great discussion with Board President, Assistant City Manager Alejandra "Alex" Lopez, City of San Antonio; Assistant City Manager Veronica Briseno, City of Austin; and Deputy City Manager Rick Cortes, City of Seguin.

The summit also included a presentation on project management by Yvette Mendoza, CIP Manager, Transportation & Public Works, City of Austin, and a presentation on the importance of communication as a leader by Laura Mayes, Assistant Director of Communications and Engagement, City of San Antonio.
