How Public Libraries are Rising to the Challenge to Serve the Public in a COVID-19 Environment
Over 90% of public libraries throughout the country were forced to close their doors to help prevent the spread of COVID 19 making their physical collections and resources such as public computers inaccessible to the community. In an effort to continue to serve their communities, public libraries turned to creative and innovative ways to impact their communities. In this webinar you will learn how libraries continue to serve by expanding their access to their digital resources. You will also learn how libraries were forced to be creative to advanced digital inclusion and help bridge the digital divide. Many libraries were also used by local governments to be part of the response efforts – many served as food distribution points, call centers, childcare providers, support the homeless and assist with the distribution of PPE -to name a few.
