Magda Gonzalez

As a teenager, Magda worked in a City-operated community center where she discovered local government and has been hooked ever since.  Magda was most recently the City Manager for the City of Half Moon Bay, California. Prior to that she was the City Manager of East Palo Alto, California, and Deputy City Manager for Redwood City, California.

Magda has a wealth of community experience ranging from serving on several non-profit boards of directors to serving as a trustee for the Redwood City (California) Elementary School District.

Among other professional membership and affiliations, Magda served as the President of Cal-ICMA, representing the Local Government Hispanic Network; serves on the Board of Directors for the San Mateo Credit Union and the Latino Leadership Council of San Mateo County.  Magda is also a member of ICMA and the State Bar of California.  Magda has received several awards and recognitions, including the Ethical Hero Award from Cal-ICMA, one of the highest honors that a member can receive. 

Magda received her Bachelor of Arts degree in social science from California State University, Sacramento, and received her Juris Doctorate degree from Santa Clara University.

Magda is a lifelong resident of the California Bay Area, where she enjoys time with her family and friends.
