Temple, Texas, is ideally situated along the Central Texas technology corridor with San Antonio and Austin to the south, and Dallas and Fort Worth to the north. It is a principal city in the Killeen-Temple- Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has an estimated population of 428,000. The city offers an exceptional quality of life to its approximately 79,286 residents.

Under the supervision of the Director of Purchasing & Facility Services, the Assistant Director of Purchasing and Facility Services provides management support for the Facility Services, Utility Warehouse, and Purchasing divisions; oversees construction of certain facility projects; plans for facility capital improvement and budgetary needs; manages contracts that have Citywide impact or that directly relate to Facility Services or the Utility Warehouse.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record as a leader in project management, with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. He or she must be customer service oriented, with an ability to listen and provide workable solutions and recommendations.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, or a facility-related field. A minimum of five years of supervisory and managerial experience is also required. Knowledge of building construction components, and systems as well as public procurement experience is preferred. The selected candidate must have a valid Texas driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within three months of hiring date.

The salary range for the position is $85,300-$105,830.
